Elinor Frost

Biography

Elinor is a Master of Health Informatics student at the University of Michigan School of Information. They are focused on the intersection of medical sociology and information science, with particular interest in the experiences of Black and Indigenous women in the US Healthcare system. Elinor is passionate about using the rapidly-expanding capabilities of computers and the recent exponential increases in data production for social good. They believe in the power of health informatics to expose and relieve health outcome disparities. 

 

Elinor received their Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Sociology from Oberlin College in 2025. They also completed an integrative concentration in Data Science and a minor in Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist studies. Whilst pursuing their degree, Elinor worked as a research assistant for the Oberlin Computer Science Department under professor Adam Eck, where they collected, managed, and analyzed data from prompt-engineering tasks focusing on survey data collection quality. This research aims to guide survey questionnaire designers in using AI to assist with writing accessible survey questions with comprehensive response options. Outside of the lab, Elinor worked as a grader and peer tutor for computer science courses, and was a collegiate swimmer and pole vaulter.
