Biography
Nia Allen is a Master of Health Informatics candidate at the University of Michigan’s School of Information. With a background in global and community public health, she has collaborated with peers to develop effective interventions for underserved communities. She has collaborated with Vision Brothers, a Kenyan organization, to combat HIV stigma and expand access to health information through the development of infographics and resource cards.

Previously, Nia served as the Public Health Chair for the Black Maternal Equity Collective (BMEC) at the School of Public Health, where she engaged with students across multiple disciplines to advance health outcomes for Black mothers. In addition to developing skills in programming languages such as R and Python, she is a certified pharmacy technician with a strong interest in streamlining clinical workflows and healthcare technology.
